“The communication and interaction which accompanies music-making builds bonds between children and adults, and sends a clear message that music is a natural form of expression and communication” (Pittsburg Symphony Symposium, 2000).
We know that early experiences are everlasting. Researchers and music educators agree that in modern society, important aspects of children’s development have been forgotten as children and parents ride the wave of technology and consumerism. As a result, there is a strong need to help parents and caregivers become comfortable making music in the home, as throughout history, this has always proven to be an important part of a child’s development and life experience. Based on this notion, we have created a series of CDs and accompanying Songbooks that empower parents to enjoy the enriching experience of making music together with their children. Thus far, we’ve been thrilled with the rave reviews we’ve received about our CDs/Songbooks, as our young students and parents seem to embrace the chance to bond through their on-going participation in Music Preludes®' fun at home.
Our CDs and Songbooks complement Music Preludes® by integrating and reinforcing concepts learned in the program. These materials are designed to both supplement the program by providing consistency in learning, and function independently of the program, as the songs are fun, interactive, and educational. Most of the songs on each CD are original and can only be found on our Music Preludes® CDs. But you’ll also enjoy some familiar favorites enhanced with new arrangements and other songs that are just plain silly: “Did you ever ask a dinosaur to come inside and have a snack, but he couldn’t fit through the door?” “What really did happen when the tortoise and the hare had their race?”
Currently, there are three versions of our CD/Songbook series available for purchase (Red, Blue and Green). Each version in the series is different, introducing new and fun songs, and all versions are appropriate for all ages (infant/toddler to Kindergarten).
