We’ve had great successin providing preschool educators with the necessary tools to integrate our music approaches into their classrooms through our Music Preludes® Workshops which we offer in all types of settings throughout the year. In our workshops, we generate an exciting forum for early childhood educators to learn about our innovative approaches and discuss ways to enhance their preschool classes through our guidance and materials.
Our workshop, entitled “Teach Music? Me?… You Can Do It And We Can Show You How,” is designed to empowerpreschool educators to integrate the teaching of music concepts into their classroom curricula.
We teach specific ways to communicate music concepts to children in age-appropriate and effective ways, introducing these exciting concepts entirely through fun songsand creative activities in a non-competitive and supportive context. In our workshop “Transition While You Sing…La La La La La La La”, we share ideas which we have found are particularly helpful in easing children through transitional periods throughout the school day.
In our workshops, we provide materials and suggestions to prepare preschool educators to engage their students in many novel experiences within the realms of creative movement and expression, singing, experimentation with sounds and percussion instruments, and listening to genres of music from cultures around the world. Without any prior music experience, educators can learn to help preschoolers hone their aesthetic senses, enhance their modes of creative expression, and communicate in the universal language of music, abilities that will fundamentally improve many critical facets of their overall development and will be carried with them into their futures.
The cost of our Workshop, “Teach Music...Me?, is based on $200.00 per hour, with one-hour minimum. Included in this fee are a syllabus, Music Preludes® song index and certificate acknowledging professional hours required by the state.
Our workshops have been presented at individual childcare centers and the following Conferences: NAEYC, NJAEYC (State and individual counties), NJEA, NJMEA (NJ Music Educators Association), DVAEYC (Delaware Valley Association for the Education of the Young Child), and PACCA (Pennsylvania Child Care Association).
